Humanities for the Healthcare Professional explores the complex ethical dimensions of healthcare through the lens of the humanities. Students will explore the philosophical assumptions underpinning healthcare theories, modes of reasoning and critique, literary narratives, and artistic expressions to develop a nuanced understanding of diverse healthcare experiences and the moral dilemmas in medicine and the broader healthcare system. The course emphasizes critical thinking, ethical reasoning, narrative structures, and empathetic engagement with the human experience of health, illness, and the pursuit of wellness.
