This 12-month hybrid program prepares the student to enter the workforce as an entry-level Occupational Therapy Assistant working under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
The OTA program, inclusive of Level II Fieldwork, begins after the student has satisfied the program's general education requirements.Your in-person lab work will be completed at the Fredericksburg, VA campus approximately every three weeks.
The curriculum is occupation and evidence-based to ensure the student has the knowledge and skills to meet the occupational needs of individuals, groups, and organizations and contribute to the OT process and emerge as a lifelong learner.
Required General Education courses include College English 1, Anatomy and Physiology 1, Anatomy & Physiology 2, Humanities, Behavioral Science, and College Mathematics.
Following graduation from EVCC OTA, you are eligible to sit for the National Board Certification Examination for the OTA (NBCOT). To practice OT as an OTA you must receive a PASS score on the NBCOT exam and apply to your preferred state to receive a license/ COTA.
