Nursing (Degree)

ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE DEGREE NURSING

This Nursing (Degree) program prepares the student to enter the profession of nursing as a contributing member of the discipline to promote, maintain, and restore the health of clients in a variety of settings. This is a 45-week (12 month) program designed for students who choose nursing as a career. The program’s curriculum provides high quality theoretical, laboratory and clinical experiences ensuring the student opportunities to develop as a nurse and as an individual.

General Education Courses are required, including College English, Anatomy and Physiology, Humanities, Behavioral Science, and College Mathematics. These may be taken as the first semester of this program.

Advanced standing LPN TO RN

ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE DEGREE NURSING, Advance Standing LPN to RN

This Advanced Standing LPN to RN program prepares the student to enter the profession of nursing as a contributing member of the discipline to promote, maintain, and restore the health of clients in a variety of settings. This program is designed for students who choose nursing as a career. The program’s curriculum provides high quality theoretical, laboratory and clinical experiences ensuring the student opportunities to develop as a nurse and as an individual. This program also allows for the “upward mobility” of LPNs to transition into this curriculum.

General Education Courses are required, including College English, Anatomy and Physiology, Humanities, Behavioral Science, and College Mathematics. These may be taken as the first semester of this program.

The Eastern Virginia Career College Practical Nurse Education Program holds pre-accreditation status from the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation, located at 2600 Virginia Avenue, NW, Washington, DC, 20037. Holding pre-accreditation status does not guarantee that initial accreditation by NLN CNEA will be received.

PRACTICAL NURSE EDUCATION

This Practical Nurse Education professional training program provides quality nurses to meet the needs of the region’s health care providers. The high quality of theoretical and clinical education ensures the Practical Nursing student opportunities to develop as a nurse and as an individual while practicing in various settings and ensures the student possesses the ability to meet and exceed employer expectations in the job market.

Uniforms, immunizations, a watch with a second hand, and other additional supplies are the student’s responsibility. National Certification testing fee is not included in the cost of tuition. Criminal background check fee must be paid with application fee.
